Forums member rwl2 recently shared with us a video he made on a trip to France in which he discovered many of the real-life locations featured in the Brothers in Arms games. He was able to recognize many of the sites only because he had been to them in the game - a real testament to Gearbox's dedication to authenticity and to our enthusiastic fans!
With so many high profile projects underway, Gearbox is no stranger to the need for skilled individuals in our line of work. How better to help nurture and encourage that talent than by supporting educational programs that focus on game development? Gearbox has donated $50,000, mentors for students, and an audio lab to SMU's Guildhall program. We have several employees who came from the Guildhall program and are proud to support higher education. This article on gamesindustry.biz contains more details.
"I think it is clear that the videogame industry has the vast financial support and consumer demand it needs to continue its global growth. But what I and many industry leaders are very worried about is hiring and retaining world class talent. That's why programs like The Guildhall at SMU need our support." - Randy Pitchford
Hookedgamers posted a Hell's Highway preview on their website with an overview of information about the game - enjoy and don't forget to visit the Brothers in Arms forum for discussion with fans and the devs! Our fans have been piecing together information from the recent press tour in Europe, so go join in !
